Guest guest
Afternoon all, I want to tell you how much I enjoy reading all the posts, even though I'm sometimes a day or two behind! You people really have alot to share! I started keeping a notebook of all the various suggestions I've read about, things to avoid, etc. I have put together a 3-page letter and printed off just about everything I could find to send off to my PCP. My appointment with him is at the end of August. I have usually seen a PA over the last several months, but in order to help my case, she suggested I see both my PCP and an Endocrinologist (however you spell that) to do the pre-auth letters to both Dean Care Insurance and BC/BS. Although Dean Care told me they will cover nothing to do with WL surgery, the PA thinks it's definitely worth giving it a shot. If nothing else, open enrollment for me is in October, and I should have an answer from BC/BS before then if they'll cover the surgery. Please keep me in your prayers and cross a couple fingers and toes for me ok? Best wishes to pre-op and post-ops out there. Waunakee, WI Otherside Hopeful. This is exactly what I did -- discovered the MGB in December and checked my insurance policies. I waited for open enrollment (7/1) and signed up for BC/BS. Dr. R sent in my letter on a Thursday and I was approved the following Monday. I admire (but don't want to trade places with) those who must appeal and appeal and app.... in land
