Guest guest
Hello, Well, in this day and age with all the government imposed taxes and the cost of fuel traveling " cheap " isn't as it used to be. There are usually ways to get a good deal though. 1. Try to buy your tickets with at least a 7 - 14 day advanced purchase. 2. Often the small airports offer better travel deals. 3. If you can be flexible with you times and dates you can get a better deal. 4. Try to find a travel agent that uses domestic consolidators 5. Southwest never charges a change fee for their tickets. Use them when possible. All other airlines impose a $75.00 per occurrence 6. If you have a last minute deal Call around to some of the vacation companies. Often you can get them to throw a hotel and car in for the same price or less then just an airline ticket. 7. Although Priceline.com, cheaptickets.com and some of the other companies offer great deals at times watch their restrictions. They will not let you change your ticket, which means if you don't use it when they tell you, you will lose the total amount you paid for it. 8. Bartering for your tickets with a large company may be a good idea, but you have to have something for trade. 9. American and some other airlines use to have " break away " fares, but they no longer do this at this time. If you see these and want to take advantage of these deals they will ask you to travel after 12N on Saturday and you have to be back no later than 12N on Tuesday some airlines are 12N on Monday. 10. Try to get an ENTERTAINMENT coupon book. They offer some great deals in there and several airlines and car rental companies offer coupons too. One coupon book is called SAVERS CLUB.
