Guest guest
Hey guys! From the very beginning, our nutritionist wanted Elle K(19 mo.) on a flax/borage oil supplement. But I was never able to find one. This past weekend I found one by Spectrum Essentials, but I cannot dicern whether it is legal or not. There are some things listed that Elaine doesn't address either way . . . either that or I don't understand enough to deduct logical conclusions. Please help! I bought 2 forms . . . liquid and gel capsules because the ingredients are different. LIQUID: cold-pressed unrefined organic faxseed oil, cold-pressed unrefined organic borage oil, mixed tocopherols (non-GE, non hexane extracted natural vitamin E). It also says " bottled with an inert gas for freshness; bottled in a facility that produces peanut and tree nut oils. " GEL CAPS: cold-pressed unrefined organic flaxseed oil, unrefined borage oil, softgel (gelatin, glycerin, water, caramel color, carob). I know that there are some illegals in the softgel portion of the gel caps; however, Elle will not be consuming the capsule. I would pierce the capsule and squish out the liquid for her. Does the carob and caramel color still contaminate the product? So since my nutritionist recommends this type of supplement, is this brand OK? Which form should I select if it is OK? Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Barleans is a very good company with impeccable care to keeping good high quality products.. I would recommend this brand..Also Dr Yasko is another great avenue for great quality.. spectrum has a history of having rancid oils..for supplementation..I tend to steer clear of this brand for our supplements.. Sandy SCD ~1 month / GFCF organic all... & Dan Biomedical 8+ yrs...2 kids ASD....1 recovered..;- ) > > Dr. Amy Yasko offers an Essential Fatty Acid Softgel Capsule with > borage oil and flax seed oil. Guest guest
To my knowledge, most oils are okay. I would avoid the flavored gel cap version. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/
