Hi all:

I am getting ready for MGB. I have not gotten all of my contacts yet, but

am making good headway. I think I am doing pretty good considering I've

only been at this since June 27.

I have gotten my physical/pap. I am scheduled for mammo on 1Aug. I sent in

patient form and already have insurance approval (yahoo-no problems there!).

I am shooting for a 21Sep surgery date. I think this is realistic with what

I have to do yet. Anybody confirmed for the 21st yet?

I have to say I am so excited I have already bought some smaller clothes

(thrift shop) and have them cleaned and hanging in my closet! Cart before

the horse, huh?

Anyway, one thing I can't help worrying about is that Dr. R won't approve me

for some reason. That is keeping me awake at night. I read this saying the

other day and while it applies to me-it doesn't make me feel

better....people who have nothing to worry about worry about nothing.

Can anyone tell me why Dr. R. denies people for surgery. Your answers may

help me keep sane. I really don't think I will have a problem as I do not

suffer from depression, I weigh 260 and am working on dieting and exercising

so I will be in better shape for the surgery. My current BMI is 47. I have

lots of family support. Insurance approved and no problem paying what's not

covered (deductible). I have had gall bladder surgery-big scar in upper

abdomen, D & C, 3 births, tubes tied, and have never, never had any problems

with regards to anesthesia or recovery. I have no food allergies (or any

other allergies) and I think overall I have a really good attitude. I also

have read extensively about this surgery and understand all of the risks.

What do you think? Should I go to a clinic before I have my pack completely

ready (mammo results won't be done till mid August) so I can meet with Dr. R

and get rid of this worry-can I even do that? Can I call him or email him?
