<< Anyway, Blair, thanks for the kind words. As parents don't we have to be

creative sometimes?? lol One good thing has come from our made-up torture

stories, though. has discovered a talent and penchant for writing.

This of course pleases little ole' me (former English teacher and current

" writer wannabe " ) very much!

Is your surgery next week?

>>

You're welcome.

My surgery is on MONDDAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!

I'm a bit nervous.

I have told everyone of my personal acquaintance that I am having this

surgery, so I'm feeling a bit under the gun. I'm thinking I may have

overdone the telling thing just a bit. But in my little town, there are no

secrets. I'd rather handle the spin control up front, if you know what I

mean.

Please continue to send along any good parenting tips - I have a 9 year old

daughter, also a wonderful writer, and we enjoy some good laughs together

about how insane other 9 year olds can be.

Best wishes,

Blair

Hi Blair,

Of course you are going on Monday, silly me, I saw the 7/24 under your name

after I asked you that! LOL Good luck! I will be praying for you and know

that you will do very well!! Come back and tell us ALL about it when you are

up to it!

As for the parenting tips, I have a feeling you are doing a wonderful job. I

know you have a lot of empathy, as do all of us who have struggled with

weight issues. That, along with patience and a lot of love are most impt,

IMO. If she is a budding writer, then I know you have a lot of fun-- don't

you just love reading their stories? There's nothing like it!

I will tell you one thing that and I have always done, and that is we

make up stories together. One of us starts with, " Once upon a time... " and

from there we take turns creating a story, never knowing where it might end

up. And guess what? This is another thing we do lying on her bed. LOL I

love that she (at 16) still invites me in when I ask. Once plopped next to

her on her bed in her " private domain, " it's amazing what transpires! I

wouldn't trade those moments for anything.

Again, good luck on Monday, sweetie!
