Has anyone used Flagyl (antibiotic) for their Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn's?

Hi,

I want to know if you've had a bad reaction? They put my son on it

Tuesday and by Thursday, he was having more bowel movements. I spoke to

the nurse and she says it's not the drugs but the disease. One of the

side effects of Flagyl is diarrhea.

My son responded very well to Flagyl. He started out with diarrhea and

by the end of the 30-day course he had solid poops. Of course, yeast

took over later and it was back to mush for a year and a half til we

started the SCD. But his Clostridia has never returned, and everything

else has. I think Flagyl took care of it completely.

i thought flagyl was an antifungal , not an antibiotic. i could be

wrong because i am thinking back to my pre scd days when i was

researching anti yeast options.
