Guest guest
So for those who have been following our progress - tonight we had the first BM since starting SCD on Wednesday. In the past (pre-SCD) we have had 1-6 very mushy toxic smelling stools each day. We went 3 days w/out a poop since starting SCD - FORMED finally, but the stench...WOAH - something is dying/died in there. Typically I've heard of die-off poo's having black flecks - but this was totally speckled in white. Any other poo peepers know if that is also die-off? I'm trying to discern between typical die off and not digesting something properly. Amy w/Mason 3.5 ASD - SCD 3 days and who will someday kill me for talking about his poo on the internet! Guest guest
Hooooooooray!!- the flecks could be related to undigested food or die off...many die off poos are foul smelling, and can come in many appearances..hard to say.. Die off typically does go on for a while. The author of the book The Yeast Connection, Dr Cook.. makes a point of saying when we are putting out the fire in the gut(die off) it takes a while to clear out the smoke... I think this is a great way to think of it.. Best wishes for more poop!...;-) Take care Sandy -- In pecanbread , " decamybby " wrote: > > So for those who have been following our progress - tonight we had the > first BM since starting SCD on Wednesday. Guest guest
amy, i have no idea if you son's poos with white flexs are the flecks of yeast but i thought it might be worth noting that under a microcope and in a petri dish in the laboratory, yeast cells are white. so i wouldnt be surprised if white flex in the poo were chunks of yeast. wouldnt if be nice if you were seeing chunks of yeast leaving his body ! donna > > So for those who have been following our progress - tonight we had the > first BM since starting SCD on Wednesday. Guest guest
OOOH - I hope you are right!! We are still seeing white and black flecks in his poo and if it's undigested food I can't tell what it would be that he isn't digesting properly. I wish I had a microscope so I could super poo peep! You know, Mason typically covers his ears when the bus pulls up to our house. It has air brakes and makes a really loud hissing sound when it stops - Mason has always been very sensitive to that, but today he didn't do it. He hopped on the bus w/out being apprehensive at all. I've commonly heard of ear covering associated w/yeast overgrowth - so now I wonder if it's all related! Wouldn't that just be the most amazing thing ever! Amy w/ Mason (3.5yo.
