Guest guest
Put water in your yogurt maker, then take the temperature of the water after a couple of hours to see how warm the water is. If the yogurt maker is heating up too high, the bacteria will die. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/

Guest guest
Jill, I think it should be not less than 100 and not more than 110. I don't remember where I read this though. Someone might have better idea and be able to give you page and line. <SMILE> Sandy M. > > > > Put water in your yogurt maker, then take the temperature of the > water > > after a couple of hours to see how warm the water is. > > > > If the yogurt maker is heating up too high, the bacteria will die. > > > > > > Jody > > mom to -7 and -9 > > SCD 1/03 > > >
Guest guest
I just checked and it is around 100 degrees, so maybe that isn't the problem. I poured off all the yellow liquid and there is pretty thick yogurt at the very bottom. Can we eat this? Also, maybe I will try adding gelatin next time and not heating the goat milk at 180 for 2 minutes...maybe it broke it down. One other question...after 24 hours...do you stir the yogurt? Would this have mixed the yellow liquid (it was about 1 inch thick) in with stuff at the bottom and been okay? ~Jill > > > > > > Put water in your yogurt maker, then take the temperature of the > > water > > > after a couple of hours to see how warm the water is. > > > > > > If the yogurt maker is heating up too high, the bacteria will > die. > > > > > > > > > Jody > > > mom to -7 and -9 > > > SCD 1/03 > > > > > >
Guest guest
" What should the temperature be in the yogurt maker? " Between 100-110, I think. Mine was heating too high and I had to exchange it. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/
