Guest guest
Hello Everyone. I just got my son's blood test back and his Alkaline Phosphatase is abnormal at 200H. I remember reading something somewhere about this and I think it's why he doesn't always digest things and his hair is so sparse. Does anyone have any insights or a web-link about what this is and what to do to normalize it? I'd like to help him as soon as possible. Thank you all very much for your help and information. I don't know what I would have done these past 9 months without this group. Mom to Broderick, 23 months old, PDD, SCD 9 months.

Guest guest
What is the cause of the abnormal Alkaline Phosphatase? Did you also have liver enzymes and bilirubin levels evaluated? A CBC? I don't know. It could indicate liver malfunction, a systematic bacterial infection, something peculiar going on with the intestines or bones. Summer lipawe wrote: Hello Everyone. Guest guest
Yes in children this happens a lot..both my kids show this frequently and it is bone growth...Of course one does have to look at the rest of the profile..as noted liver etc... ;-) > > > > > > Hello Everyone. > > > > > > I just got my son's blood test back and his Alkaline Phosphatase > > is > > > abnormal at 200H. Guest guest
Do you feed him enough protien and fat? High alkaline phosphate levels would indicate that he has a metabolic advantage with a high protien/fat diet. His carbs should probably be limited slightly. This would factor in to the whole growth connection, these results may be a sign that his body is needing protiens and fats to grow and so adapting itself to be able to process them most efficietnly > >Reply-To: pecanbread >To: pecanbread >Subject: blood test info >Date: Fri, 12 May 2006 22:59:54 -0000 > >Hello Everyone. > >I just got my son's blood test back and his Alkaline Phosphatase is >abnormal at 200H.
