Guest guest
Most likely, farm fresh meats, imo, are always fresher and better tasting. There are many reasons why your lamb could not taste right a) It is old What it ate, lamb can get into anything c) Alot of NZ lamb is sheepy tasting. Guest guest
Ditto. I just picked up my half pig today, and I was just sitting down to the computer for a moment, eating one hastily cooked uncured sausage, and the taste is out of this world. I get local pastured lamb through my co-op, and it is divine, it melts in the mouth like butter, no after or off taste. Always cook it slow, on low temp. Guest guest
Anyone live in Kansas City area and have some home grown lamb they would take a price for? Our butcher can get us one, but I would have to take the whole thing. I'd like to just try a pound or two first, just to make sure. Guest guest
We get local lamb, though I do think it tastes a little strong also. I eat it, but it is not my favorite. I think if you've never had it, it can be hard to get used to. My kids and husband love lamb though, so I buy it for them. Part of the funky taste in lamb is actually the fat. You can trim as much as possible and see if that improved the flavor for you. Becky mom to Noah (6, HFA) and (3, NT) SCD 2 months > I have a lamb question.
