Guest guest
My kids were GF/CF/SF for a long time, and I've had them on SCD for about a month. How soon did you introduce yogurt? Does the gut need to heal a lot before you can do this? Janice mom to Billy (3 autism) and Colby (2 PDD-NOS) SCD about a month

Guest guest
We where casien free for almost five years before SCD. And then Gluten free since Dec 2004. We learned that we had Celiac Disease (but did not respond to gluten free diet). I feared gluten and casien like the plague. Due to medical necesity, and not know for certain at the time that ASD as a result to damaged intestines. We started SCD with the goat yogurt right away. My duaghter needed this vicious cycle broken as soon as possible. She was that sick and needed to gain weight sooner not later. It caused a miserable but much needed die off. Our daughter was the sickest (Celiac, errosive intestines....and ultimately a few weeks ago comfirmed with autism(go figure). It only lasted 10 days (we did intro for 10 days too thanks to sick status). She has had no problems since the inital die off and enjoys the yogurt...and it is helping her to gain weight. My my celiac/ADHD son has had no problems either...that could be related to casein. At one time I foolishly mistakened " die off " with a reaction to the casein in the goat milk that I was making Yogurt out of. This is when I learned at Pecan Bread's web site under yogurt preperation, that Elaine and others have discovered that when the yogurt it fermented the SCD way fro 24 hours (or more if you wish), the casine is rendered harlmess and can not have the same allergic or casomorphine reaction. We have yet to experiment with cheese...and don't think we will untill we hale much more. Die off reaction: irritability, stomach cramps, flu like symptoms, dizzyness, restlessness, hyper activity, easy crying, tantrums, rage attacks, strange rashes...activated charcoal taken one hour before or after meals helps much. so does a long warm soak in a tub with Epson Salts. If you want to hear more...personaly feel free to e-mail me. Hope this helps, Antoinette > > > > My kids were GF/CF/SF for a long time, and I've had them on SCD for > > about a month.
