Guest guest
I think that 8 weeks from now will probably be too soon to add lentils. Those should be added about 6 months into the diet. You don't need a lentil grinder because the lentils will all need to be soaked and cooked. The best website for meal planning is http://www.fitday.com . It allows you to input foods eaten and calculate calories, etc. You can move back and forth through the calendar so that you can plan more than one day at a time. As for your wife doing SCD with your child... that would depend on her and the child. Many children balk at eating foods if everyone else is not eating the same foods. Other kids don't care at all. A yogurt maker will come in handy. A bread machine is a waste of money on SCD because we do not make breads that rise. The best thing to have would be a good quality food processor. Beyond that: appropriate baking equipment, a mixer and a blender would definitely be handy. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/
Guest guest
If you are looking for easy things to freeze our favorites are pre- made meatballs and turkey balls (just plain meat made into a ball and baked.) Then I freeze it and can thaw out what little we need. We also like to cook turkey and briskit and package in meal size portions to thaw when we need something quick. I have successfully frozen the squash pie also. Its aslo nice to have some cooked chicken ready for avacodo chicken (we make ours with just avacodos, chicken and salt right now - its fast.) The cooked apples and pears freeze well if you can keep from eating them all up before they make it to the freezer. These things save us a lot of time. Best to you. Guest guest
I am going to add one item to the list. Other than my yogart maker and food processor, I use my hand held blender http://www.pleasanthillgrain.com/bamix.asp I use my yogart maker a couple of times a week, my food processor for grinding nuts and slicing veggies, my mixer if I make cookies(to thick for other appliances) but I use my bamix almost daily, some times several times a day.
