Guest guest
We have a cheap filter on the cold water in the kitchen to make our water taste better but would like to get something that would really take out the bad guys. I have looked at one at http://www.pleasanthillgrain.com/berkey_light_big_berkey_water_filter_b ritish_berkefeld_portable_purifier.asp I want something that will remove the floride along with all the other 'bad stuff'. What do you use or recommend? Does the filter I have posted her appear to you to be a good choice? We have talked about just buying water from the store but could pay for this filter in 8-9 months with the money of the purchaced water and not have to be constantly lugging jugs nor have to figure out how or where to store 15 gallon of water when we would bring it home from the store. Guest guest
i don't think berkley know what they doing or they wouldn't sell a polycarbonate version since polycarbonate leaches a very potent toxin, bisphenol a you have to know what the major contaiminants are, some-one in the water supply authority will know what the issues are and may even have a filter recommendation yeah i would remove fluoride it is quite diffcult to get a satisfactory filtering set up, if you remove to many metals you can get an issue with to much copper getting into the water form copper piping if the filtering is done at the house entry > > We have a cheap filter on the cold water in the kitchen to make our > water taste better but would like to get something that would really > take out the bad guys. > I have looked at one at > http://www.pleasanthillgrain.com/berkey_light_big_berkey_water_filter_ b > ritish_berkefeld_portable_purifier.asp > I want something that will remove the floride along with all the > other 'bad stuff'. > What do you use or recommend? > Does the filter I have posted her appear to you to be a good choice? > We have talked about just buying water from the store but could pay > for this filter in 8-9 months with the money of the purchaced water > and not have to be constantly lugging jugs nor have to figure out how > or where to store 15 gallon of water when we would bring it home from > the store. > TIA > Sandy M. > Whole family SCD in support of 5 yr old who raged. >
Guest guest
Dear Sandy, We too are trying to find a good water filter/set up. We just read in the GAPS book the Dr. N says that the chlorine in the water supply KILLS off some of the benifitual gut flora. This did not make me happen to read this. Not to count GOD knows what else is in the stuff we drink that we should not consume as HUMAN BEINGS. What a world we live in when the water filter puts in more toxins (written below/ polycarbonate) than it takes out! Any suggestions, Highly wanted Antoinette (SCD family of five/2.5 months/ thanks to a damaged injured gut...that resulted in ASD problems in many of us) > > > > We have a cheap filter on the cold water in the kitchen to make our > > water taste better but would like to get something that would > really > > take out the bad guys. > > I have looked at one at > > > http://www.pleasanthillgrain.com/berkey_light_big_berkey_water_filter _ > b > > ritish_berkefeld_portable_purifier.asp > > I want something that will remove the floride along with all the > > other 'bad stuff'. > > What do you use or recommend? > > Does the filter I have posted her appear to you to be a good choice? > > We have talked about just buying water from the store but could pay > > for this filter in 8-9 months with the money of the purchaced water > > and not have to be constantly lugging jugs nor have to figure out > how > > or where to store 15 gallon of water when we would bring it home > from > > the store. > > TIA > > Sandy M. > > Whole family SCD in support of 5 yr old who raged. > > >
Guest guest
I've read also about the dangers of flouride and was especially interested in one that would take this out. My husband found a reverse-osmosis filter at this website: http://www.freedrinkingwater.com/water-filtration-filters.htm I'm sure there are others. Also, you may be interested in knowing what other things are lurking in your water. If you use a municipal water source, you can find a report on its contents here: http://www.ewg.org/tapwater/yourwater/index.php These water tests are not all current, however.
