I am wondering if others follow the SCD diet and have peanut and nut allergies?

Is it possible to follow and use foods that do not contain nuts?

Tamara,

We don't have nut/peanut allergies but plenty of others and so to be

safe I am not giving my boys any peanuts or nuts. We are doing the

diet--it certainly can be done. Baked goods, though, I haven't figured

out. I know there are recipes for chicken pancakes (chicken and egg)

and some veggie/chicken tots--I haven't tried either of them but they

look good and are nut free. I also think (I'm not sure....) that you

might be able to use coconut flour to adapt recipes that call for nut

flour. At any rate, it can be done. We eat meats, eggs, fruits,

avocado, (great fat source and also a decent protein source as the

protein is usable to the body compared to meat--plain, and I make it

into guacomole and also a blend of coconut meat, avocado and pear

puree that tastes pretty good--we call it ice cream), olives, veggies

of course. Yes, I think you can do it without nuts!

le

(just starting SCD--with (asd) and Caleb--my two year olds)
