In order to make a frozen yogurt popsicle, you will first have to make the SCD 24 hour yogurt, using whatever you want to ferment, cow's milk, goat's milk, half-n-half, cream. After the 24 hour yogurt is done, refrigerate 8 hours. Aftar that, you can then mix it with whatever SCD food you want to and freeze it turning it into a popsicle. So, you can take SCD yogurt, orange juice and honey and mix it together to create a " creamsicle " type popsicle. You can mix it with frozen fruit and then freeze the mixture. You can also just freeze juice mixed with water in popsicle molds and get popsicles that way. You can buy popsicle molds from places like Tupperware or stores like WalMart and Target. Or you can just make mini one in ice cube trays. I have never seen a Cuisinart frozen yogurt maker. So, I have no idea what the directions are for using one. But in order for what you make to be okay for SCD, the yogurt you use has to be the 24 hour SCD yogurt. Guest guest
Yes I already know to make the 24 hour yoghurt. I make half n half When I make my frozen yoghurt in the past I take 2 cups of scd yoghurt and blend in blender 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 c honey and make the frozen yoghurt that takes about 30 - 45 min blending it in the container. It is just exactly like the donvier but electric. It comes out soft ice cream. I was thinking about making that along with a apple cobbler for a event that I am having on sat. My question is, is it better to have it harder to not turn out like soft ice cream for a dessert? What does gelatin do to adding to yoghurt and blending? " Jody G. Guest guest
Okay. I get it now. I'm not sure what adding gelatin will do to it. Sorry. For desserts with ice cream, I make the ice cream recipe that it is on pecanbread.com. (The one made out of egg whites.) But I imagine that frozen yogurt would taste really good too. To get it frozen more solid, couldn't you pour it from the machine into a glass bowl and put it in a really cold freezer for several hours?
