When I was researching before buying my dehydrator, I read that the

teflex sheets in the excalibur are safe, because when you dehydrate you

don't actually heat the material hot enough to cause any break down.

You can also use parchment paper if you feel that might be safer - the

silicon in the parchment paper resists breakdown up to a very high temp

supposedly. I would love to hear anyone else's opinion also.

Hi,

Just an FYI...some parchment paper is dusted w/ corn. Waaaay back

when Glenn was still really sensative we found this out the hard way

(sorry, I cannot remember the name of the brand I used...it's been

over two years).

Thanks for telling about the dehydrator material; I really want

to get one sometime, but I was concerned about 'leaching' :-)

(90% paleo since Feb.)

and Glenn: SCD/LOD (plus some other things) since 2/06 and doing

great :-)

Thanks, that is always good to remember. Could you see the dust or

feel it. The brand I use seems pretty slick. I probably need to

call the company and ask.

I looked the company up on the Net. It was under product materials.

Unfortunately, my harddrive croaked a couple of weeks ago, and I lost

a lot of links/bookmarks - and as we don't use the stuff anymore, I

cannot be sure of the brand. I'm sorry; I know that is not much help.
