Guest guest
Since there are some saying untrue things about me I wanted to post this again. > Our story is a little different in that both me and my husband came to Pecan Bread with Celiac Disease that was not responding to traditional treatment or Gluten Free diet. When our duaghter and son started to show symptoms of ASD behavior we knew that we had to do something fast. Nothing worked until SCDiet. > > This is the miracle that has occured in me and my husband: > > 1)I/we are more even tempered, have more patients for others actions. > 2)No more mood swings, depression or irrational behavior or my > own " tantrums " . To think I was just worried about my kids behavior > at one time. > 3)No more cramping, outward signs of thrush, diarrhea spells, body > aches and pains. > 4) Sleep better, no more dark circles under my eyes > 5) More energy to cook SCD foods lol! and Clean my house that now is > representable to anybody who enters. lol...thank God for that one. > We use to live in a cluttered mess. > 6)Better memory, better cognitive skills, better clarity of thought > 7)No longer feel TOXIC and foggy brain has cleared for the first > time in my life. > > I am so grateful because with sick kids and being sick myself it was just a miserable year before this solution. I am the mother of two babies that are only five months apart. The state approved us for adoption of our third daughter when our biological duaghter was 5 months old and son was 3 years old. They knew that we could handle it. We wanted to be able to breast feed/nurse both babies. At the time we did not know about this " vicious cycle " . > > Thank God for Elaine, Dr. Haas for keeping a message alive and well > for those of us who need it. I truly needed it. They saved my motherhood. I now have good memories to look back on. > > A Message of Hope to those who need it, Antoinette > > SCD entire family of five SCD since 2/06 and already significant > improvement. >

Guest guest
Dear , We have no had just roses, there have been some thorns. I have shared how we have had difficulty with the die off reaction to the yogurt, that we first innocently mixed up as a casein reaction. This was before I read that the casein is rendered harmless in a batch of 24 hour yogurt, and we got horrible die off from some yogurt I made from coconut milk. Same reaction yet couldn't have casein. Our first die off was a miserable one. All five of us got sick....die off as a family is such a joy. lol At least we got it over with and are now reaping the benifits. The second die off that come around three months we all got at different times. This was not as bad but still was not plesent...after the die offs I now look forward to seeing what new things KiKi will be able to do. Each time she looses a little more of her autistic self. We also have had horrible problems with enzymes. Later learning that the protease is not a good idea to take with people like me and my daughter who have intestinal damage. Keeps the SCDiet from working, and cuased us huge set backs. You see there have been some " thorns " ....We have had a few set backs. Kiki's thrush came back when we ate cheese too soon, and offered her raw fruit too soon. Anything that isn't digested easily or completely can feed the " bad gut " guys, so we now take our time introducing more advanced foods. On the most part just by folowing the book we are having great success. Thank God, Antoinette (mom to -4 KiKi-2 and Bubbles-1 thanks to celiac/asd/hyperekplexia and now all healing thanks to this wonderful way that works when no other did) > > > > Since there are some saying untrue things about me I wanted to post > > this again. > > you just want to go back to the first posts of pecan bread or flip > across cross to the lryis archives and you get a sense of how posts > just disappear and what is said doesn't really matter > > a week or couple of months and its all totally forgotten > > what i don't get from your posst is useful information about how you do > things, the negative stuff that must occur but never seems to end up in > your posts > > you know things that would be helpful and not just a waste of time to > read >
Guest guest
thats interesting about coconut milk, thinking about it, i cannot see how coconut could ever be fermented successfully since it is so loaded with anti yeast agents - mitochondrial supressors any fermentation would give a highly biased bacterial/yeast population the problem with casien and other biactive peptides in milk is if they get across the gut undigested or partly digested they act directly as biological componds in the body so yogurt or aged cheese by denaturing these compounds helps prevent this but the other side is gut permiablity and lack of seal which has to be addressed in at least part by understanding and using oils to give the most useful efa profile while avoiding pitfalls years of experience have taught me that it is not possible to take the view that diet alone is enough, but one day at a time and i am glad your daughter is recovering. what autism is, is not well understood and i have to say i miss being more autistic with its strong sense of the beauty of nature and really just to roam throughout the world like some halfling ignorant of the human world around me and all its moil so i hope your daughter retains the strengths of autism while losing the dehabilitating aspects fruits have some peak point of ripeness that gives a very small window of eatability raw (peeled of course) the basic thing about proteases is that they attack dead tissue so if the gut is not renwing at the very rapid rate it has in good health then i would imagine there are issues so as you improve the context changes and i am always finding that optimium diet and supplementation is a shifting field of never ending change with a few constants and the scd theory of fermentation , enzyme use, and supplementation like iodine, zinc, lithium and selenium has been among those constants the oddest thing about all this is that unless the rate of progress actually increases you fall back and this is at least four years of scd and supplementation and much longer with diet and supplements generally and you can backwards as fast as you go forwards until you uncover another key, like dropping fish and shell fish with thier high arsenic and mercury levels has made a major improvement the other thing is that everything is manifest in mood and the brain well before it shows in the gut or otherwise, so you can actually read people by mental agility, ability to proactively accomodate new ideas and focus on what matters. Dear I am with you here. This is the very reason that we are not ever going to do chelaiton. The DAN! was honest with us and out right admited that it takes away the giftedness of some with ASD some times. We will not risk this and opt that the natural detoxyfing and chelating properties of the SCDiet alone will be enough. I don't think we will make coconut yogurt again. It truly was a disaster. We added honey to the coconut milk, by the way to aid in fermentation of yogurt starter. The die off was a miserable one. I don't trust the stuff. Elaine didn't like the Coconut Kefir either. So far SCDiet as outlined in BTVC book is all we trust. We came too injured. Everytime we stray from the book we pay. Like Elaine warned much of the supplements and extras just caused us problems. We have learned that we don't need much supplementation, other than good foods, multivitamin, B complex, essential oils, good calcium and not much more than this. I truly thank you for your help and enjoy reading your posts. Antoinette, (mother of 2 year old KiKI, problems: celiac/Autistic and feel blessed that we have such a beautiful daughter who no doubt is teaching all that know her a thing or two about autism. What a messanger she is.) > > > > > > > > Since there are some saying untrue things about me I wanted to > > post > > > > this again. > > > > > > you just want to go back to the first posts of pecan bread or > flip > > > across cross to the lryis archives and you get a sense of how > > posts > > > just disappear and what is said doesn't really matter > > > > > > a week or couple of months and its all totally forgotten > > > > > > what i don't get from your posst is useful information about how > > you do > > > things, the negative stuff that must occur but never seems to end > > up in > > > your posts > > > > > > you know things that would be helpful and not just a waste of > time > > to > > > read > > > > > >
