The kefir made with green coconut water is not legal on SCD and in fact can do

harm in

the same manner as eating unripe apples.

Hi Monika,

You asked a very good question!

Kefir is an advanced food that should be used later in the diet after

there has been more gut healing. It is a fantastic food but some kids

get a very strong reaction to it.

Please avoid young coconuts, and use mature coconuts instead. Start out

with yogurt made with cocconut milk. Yogurt produces a less fierce

detox reaction.

The best medium for fermented drinks is goat milk. Even ASD children

who cannot tolerate it,return to baseline after a few days. So there

is no risk for trying it. Please wait a month after starting the diet

and start out with 1/8 of a teaspoon if your child was CF prior to SCD.

The SCD yogurt is a miracle for our ASD kids!

Hi Mimi,

What type of SCD yogurt worked well with your kids? Did you use goat milk?

I tried to use the coconut kefir which my son reacted terribly. His gut was

not ready. I definitely want to try the yogurt.

thanks,

Kathrina

Sorry for the dealy in answering your post,I missed seeing it.

I used goat milk yogurt. One should start with small doses such as

1/8 of a teaspoon.
