Guest guest
Well, we had to restart SCD with intro today. Last month I jumped in full force with Cody and didn't try the intro or stages or anything. I know all you old timers sit back and shake your heads at people like me knowing we will have to do the intro sometime or another! I have one question- the intro info at pecanbread mentions egg drop soup- I can't find a recipe- am I overlooking it? Cody did well with SCD until we did the round of flagyl and most of the vancomycin (stopped because of wheezing) for bacteria and parasites. Since then he's been going downhill. He got into a fruit tray at a gathering last night and ate too much and was up all night with diarrhea. Lately, he has had an aversion to meat and veggies and will not eat his main dishes- only wants the nut goodies, pumpkin pie filling (high honey version) or fruit to the point of crying when I deny him. (sound like yeast addiction or what??) Sooooo- I figured he would starve to death on the intro diet and no way on earth he would eat broth and carrots. I was wrong! He loves his soup! I pureed some carrots into the broth to make it a nice texture, was generous with the salt and put " noodles " made out of scrambled egg/carrot thin pancakes. Voila- " Chicken Noodle Soup " and he adores it! Who'd have thought that? Have the Welch's Grape Juice gelatin gelling in the fridge now. Used 1 part juice to 2 parts water as he normally does not drink juice and I wonder how that will do for his tendency to diarrhea. Will trust the book and try it. I have spent about $400 per month for 3 years now on herbs, supplements, tests, whatever latest and greatest promising product out there and we have not really progressed. We've been treading in one big expensive hamster wheel getting nowhere! I am now going to try it like Antoinette says- just give the plain and simple diet a shot before adding so many other things. I have been reading through 's Who Knows group and am learning so much and I just love this quote from there: " i'm not joking, 50% of the problem is not the child but the parents so toxic they can't problem solve effectively and thats modern life now " That has stuck with me all night and is inspiring me to change my whole process of dealing with Cody. So, thanks and Antoinette and other posters for the inspirations to help clarify the thought process.
