Guest guest
Dinah, I had mine taken out lap several years ago. I don't remember what the attacks were first like, but as they got more serious, I sought help. I got really sick to my stomach, and had pain under my ribs on the right side. It was a sharp pain. At first the attacks lasted only a few minutes. They progressed in pain and frequency over the next few weeks. I went to ER three times and left the first two times because the attacks were over before I got in to see a doctor. In the end, I even had terrible pain in my upper back. The attacks were worse in intensity than labor pain. I went to the emergency room the third time and they did a blood test which showed my liver functions to be off. I had ultra sound the next day and removal the day after that. No problems since! You'll get really sick in a full fledged attack. I don't know if Dr. R takes it out, but my stones were caused by rapid weight loss while I was on a long term, crash diet. -- In MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com, " Dinah Boatwright " <dinah@a...> wrote: > Let me try this out on you experienced girls...For the last few weeks > I have been having like a " twanging feeling in my upper abdomen, a > little off center of my breasts. Does Dr. R take the gallbladder at the same time as mgb. Will he do it, if my doctor recommends it? Should I? Can anyone identify with this strange pain? Dinah in Alabama >> Hi Dinah, I had my Gallbladder removed before the MGB, but, I think I have heard of patients having their gallbladder removed at the same time as MGB. You really should e-mail dr.R and ask him? It is a strange pain at first, right where you said it was, then it gets MUCH worse?? check it out and let me know K? Thanks! xoxoxo Margie

I tell my husband its a twinge, toward my right side, right at or a tad above my waistline (it's been so long since I've had a waist, not sure where it is) LOL LOL Anyway, its not a bad pain, but enough of a twinge to get my attention, only lasts about a minute. It just started doing this a few weeks ago and I was wondering the same thing about whether it could be my gall bladder.. Cathy Morrow in Lenoir, NC 5' 0 " 216.5 Lbs.
