I use a chart from " Life Without Bread " by Christian B. Allan and Wolfgang Lutz.

He says to limit your carbs to 6 points per day. I don't count the veget's or

nuts that I eat. But I do count the fruit. Most pieces of fruit are 1 point.

However. bananas are two points and grapes are higher too. For raisins, take the

carb content on the label and divide it by 12. That will tell you how many

points it is. Basically one point is approximately 12 grams. SCD did not work

for me until I limited my carbs. I do not drink juice because it is very high in

carbs.

" I would really like it if someone told me how many carbs I need per

day. My

only carb (SCD legal) that I can tolerate is carrot juice. So to start

the

intro diet, how much of the juice should I drink per day? I am 5 foot 3

and

weight 110 pounds.

Do you think an intro diet consisting of meat, eggs, and carrot juice

is

appropriate? I plan to ask my doctor tomorrow, who is very much in

support

of and recommends SCD. But I wanted to get experience SCDer's opinions

too. "

SCD does not limit the AMOUNT of carbs, just the KIND.

It is not a low carb, Atkins or ketogenic Diet. The latter may be used in

seizure cases.

It can be dangerous to sharply limit carbohydrates and lead to ketosis.

The person limited to carrot juice has an unusual situation.
