Guest guest
I guess I am one of the people that has become a little foggy as to what is correct with some of the talk that has been on this board. I read in the off subjest book how you need a probiotic that is multi and I ordered one that I thought would be safe from kirkman labs. Here is the product info: http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/products/probiotics/inulin/inulin_404_90.htm l Can anyone tell me if this is a bad choice for my son. We have never had the GI issues as far as D and C but have the major emotional issues. He is doing really great and we do follow SCD strictly but he is also very sensitive as to phenals and things like the chemicals in the pool. He still has a slight film on his tounge and this is one of the reasons I was considering using an expended probiotic. Up to this time I have been giving him the one from GiPro Health. Sandy M. Whole family SCD for 4 1/2 month in support of 5 yr old who raged.

What book are you referring to? The link you included didn't work for me. I gather from the URL, though, that the product contains inulin? If so, I believe that is not SCD legal. The www.pecanbread.com website has a list of legal supplements and probiotics. Kirkmans is hopefully not listing a product with inulin as SCD legal? Guest guest
If it has bifidus in it Elaine says not to use it, regardless of who we are and the symptoms we have. I couldn't get the link to come up. Remember that Bifidus never leaves the gut. Even eating SCd...it just so happens that Elaine and Dr. Haas discovered that this one although usually considered to be a " good " guy can turn bad, if given the right circumstances. Plus she discovered that it has even been seen in " high " numbers in those with intestinal cancers. So she told us not to use it. We had whit film on the tongue too, until I took out all " sneaky " Illegals. I am not saying you are doing anything wrong...but this was our experience. Hope this helps, Antoinette (celiac 2/06)
Guest guest
Thanks Antoinett, I don't think we have any sneekies as I really do make EVERYthing from scratch. We are not doing any juices, I buy tomatoes and make my sauce and ketchup.....I don't know what it could be if that were the issue. Here is the site again. I had to copy and paste to get it to come up. http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/products/probiotics/inulin/inulin_404_90.h tml Is Bifidobacterium bifidium the product that is bifidus. Hate to appear dence here but a scientific mind I do not have. <SMILE> Sandy M. > > If it has bifidus in it Elaine says not to use it, regardless of who we are and the symptoms we have. Guest guest
This says that it is inulin free. The book is GAP. Sandy M. PS. I was beginning to feel that BTVC was out dated and that we needed to follow GAP. Stepping back. > > <<I read in the off subjest book how you need a probiotic that is multi >> > > Not sure what you mean by that. Guest guest
Sandy, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOOOOO! BTVC is not out of date! I am eagerly awaiting my GAPS copy as well, but BTVC is a foundation to work from, it is not out of date, but rather, dateless. In fact, from the sounds of it, the GAP book is borrowing my intro strategies. Summer moeller124 <no_reply > wrote: This says that it is inulin free. The book is GAP. Sandy M. PS.
