Guest guest
Hi, Rosemary: I had my MGB two days after you !!!! I have had very little appetite, but the first week, I noticed that my stomach and body were giving me entirely different signals.....I find that if I take a sip or two of juice or gatorade (1/2 water) that usually that's all my body wanted. I really have to pay attention to these new signals and try to figure out what they're telling me. I have had a hard problem with retaining water (edema) these last three days so I'm watching my salt intake too. Keep up the good work. Guest guest
Gosh I'm glad to hear from you! I was sort of worried about my weight loss just didn't want to tell anyone. I was afraid of sounding whiny! I was 347 preop and 342 at post clinic. Every body post op there had lost more than me! ( I wanted to be one of those that lost 22 pounds in one week, fluid or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before anybody starts yelling I know it's 5 less than I would have been ) Rosemary MGB 7/24/00 347/342 Re:Rosemary Locklear > Hi, Rosemary: > I had my MGB two days after you !!!! Guest guest
Hi Rosemary & Jane-- Same thing happened to me--had surgery 7/20, had lost 5 pounds at clinic on 7/25, and was disappointed. But...I have been on a perpetual diet for my entire life... I tell everyone " I dieted myself fat, I didn't eat myself here " and I swear it's true. All those years of dieting does a real number on the metabolism! I think exercising (a real metabolism booster) is even more important for those out there like me who have been on a multi-year diet prior to the MGB! I AM losing, even if not as fast as some, and so will you. I asked Dr. R at clinic if there is anyone out there that didn't lose after the MGB, and he told us there were two people (out of more than 700)--both of them lost something like 70 pounds before their weight loss stopped, and one of them is having their MGB revised. If losing 70 pounds is the worst-case-scenario, I'm not worried about us! --a in CT > Gosh I'm glad to hear from you! I was sort of worried about my weight loss > just didn't want to tell anyone.
