This is what our experience has been with interpreting what Elaine wanted us to

know: If chelation is done before the gut has a chance to heal completely, it

can cause yeast overgrowth. The antifungals prescribed can cause other " bad

gut " guys to continue to flourish. If one adds Bifidus to this fire, SCdiet can

not do the job that it was created to do under these circumstances. SCD was

created to get the intestinal flora back into check. But only if it isn't being

compromised by other alternative treatments. Many Dan! doctors do not

understand what Elaine knew, and innocently prescribe things and order things

that compromise the integrity of the SCDiet. Elaine use to get furious about

this. It upset her greatly. What upset her most is seeing kids having success

with just SCD alone, and then doing chelation and other DAN! protocol, just to

slip backwards and sometimes get worse. It just broke her heart.

We started SCD with a little 22 month old girl that had delirium episodes that

would last close to and hour- she could not recognize who we where and would

even scratch at our faces. She had steatorrhea (stinky fat filled stools).

Constipation that would pendulum swing into uncontrollable bouts of mucousy

diarrhea. Her tummy was distended and bloated her muscle tone hyptotonic. She

also had night terrors, and two times she had what the doctors described to me

to be a " drop seizure " (this was only after she became very very upset with

something). She had inconsolable tantrums, and when overly stressed would rub

her hands (as if putting on lotion) and tap her face repeatedly, getting harder

and harder until she looked as if she could hurt herself, if we somehow didn't

stop this behavior by holding her down until she stopped screaming out of

exhaustion. It was very disturbing to see this or to be a part of this (I cry

in memory as I write this). She also stimmed with water and cards.

Is God is my witness, everything (but the low muscle tone, speech delays, some

development delays and tantrums/that are more controllable) have vanished 3

months into doing JUST the SCDiet with 100% " fanatical adherence " . Listening

to what Elaine wanted and not what our DAN! had suggested. We have since

stopped going to our DAN! and stick to just our pediatrician. The Dan! is very

impressed by the way, and called Elaine accidentally " Dr. Gottschall " . She

would have been thrilled to hear this compliment.

(mom to KiKI-2 celiac/autistic...and may be one of those lucky ones that looses

their diagnosis...this has happened in the past to kids eating this way. Some

think there is " no cure " for autism...and for some this may be a sad fact...but

we may have a " cure " here. Under the age of five, the kids are much luckier if

we can do just SCD..... we pray and keep up the SCD work!)
