Hello, I was wondering if anyone can tell me what heavy urination

means. Since starting the diet for my ASD son back in Oct/05 he has had

longer periods of heavy urine flow, night especially.Does this indicate

something, should I be worried,it stabilizes and then it gets heavy

again. Toni mom to Matteo ASD 4 years old SCD since Oct/05

What is he eating on the days that he has heavy flow, and what is he eating on

the days with the lightest flow? How much does he drink on a daily basis before

bedtime, volume wise? Does this change night to night?

For information on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, please read the book

_Breaking the Vicious Cycle_ by Elaine Gottschall and read the following

Someone brought up this subject several years ago... and I seem to remember that

magnesium intake was one thing that was connected with night wetting. More or

less... getting the balance just right... was the answer for at least one parent

here. Just a thought.

Is he drinking a lot also? Or just peeing like crazy?

Not to freak you out, but excessive thirst and urination (usually

clear, pale yellow, or slightly 'sweet' smelling) can be a hallmark of

diabetes in children.

While it is most likely not diabetes, you may wan to run this by

your doc; just to check it out.

Always good to rule out other medical problems such as elevated sugars and

kidney functions.....But what I have seen is a need for calcium...When

removing Calcium (if you have done this ) need to put it back in.. I get night

urination +++ with my kids when they do not get 1000 mg of calcium daily..
