Guest guest
Sandy, I'm so new.. still haven't finished reading... if you keep that in mind... Dr. -McBride is cautious and slow going about dairy... she has a time table... so if you have suspicions about the yogurt, her take will give you confirmation. I actually thought about Antoinette and her family's reaction with cheese, when I read it. Jeni Lynn has more experience.... Jeni Lynn what do you think? Jody and several list members will be reading the GAPS book soon; so I bet this summer, we'll be seeing more sturdy gains. I make the goat yogart and then add a little honey, vanilla and freeze. This is the only way the kids will eat it and they both really like it. We had run out and didn't have any for about a week. I got some frozen and started serving it again a couple of days ago. Just wondering if it could be something that he is reacting to our if it is helping but we are having some die off? I get so weary with trying to figure this all out. Sandy M. Guest guest
My kids eat cheese all the time so I would think if it was an issue he would not have the good days/week? Is this logical or do I have me head in the ground? Guest guest
I think you should wait and read the book... it will give you more info and peace... I should not have commented until I was finished reading the book... the info on probiotics is wonderful... I'm telling, this summer is going to be great for many of us. Guest guest
Hey guys! I am not experienced. I haven't even ordered the book yet because I am in the middle of troubleshooting some other things going on with us. Anyway, my info. comes from Kayla who has phone consultations with Dr. Natasha. I would feel better if people contacted Kayla directly because what I relay is heresay at this point (You can find her e- mail in the archives. She was " Wildman " ). But until then . . . she told me that Dr. Natasha does not think that the homemade yogurt should be tried in the first year of SCD. You will have to ask Kayla for more details. I didn't pay too much attention to this detail because we will not attempt yogurt during this year anyway. Elle is practically " off the charts " allergic to all dairy products (even goat milk ) as shown by her IgG ELISA test. By the way, has anyone with such drastic IgG reactions to dairy had success with the yogurt? Jeni Lynn (gastrointestinal problems) mom to Elle, 19 mo. Guest guest
Jeni, I am curious about the nut yogurt. Would it apply to that as well? Guest guest
Hi Kelli! I wouldn't think so since there is no dairy. But we aren't doing nut yogurt either since Elle seems to get allergic to stuff real easy and nuts are a common allergen. Also, she is still pretty young, and I don't remember how old they are supposed to be before you introduce nuts to even a regular kid.
