Hi Sara, I hope this doesn't sound too simplistic.Dr's are just

people,w/the same ability to be persuaded by others.I'LL bet your PCP just

finished having dinner,or a round of golf, or some situation where the other

physician made a couple of pts. that triggered some thoughts. And being a

good Dr, he just wanted to make sure you have considered other options. And,

of course, being an intelligent adult you were upset and offended. If you

impress upon him that you HAVE considered ALL OTHER options,he will probably

once again back you 100%.If not, well, you still have a caring PCP that will

be there for you.

Janet(raised by a 'just people' that I called DAD)

Hi Sara, Try to remember your Dr is just human. He probably wants to make

sure you have tried all nonsurgical methods first.I do not know if you have

done this, but until I wanted this surgery,I was not forthcoming in my diet

failures. So,just fill him in, and if he already knows, well just tell him

your convictions. He'll follow,it is your turn to lead. Big Hugs, Janet
