Way to go Carla!!! Congratulations on your determination and courage

to see this thing thru, I am sure that means a great success with

your surgery. I am trying to finish my packet so we both will be on

the other side soon.

I started down this road about 6 months ago as well, I first filled

out all the paperwork for Alvarado clinic in San Diego and was turned

down by my insurance. I was so bummed at the time. Now I think it is

a blessing in disguise because I found Dr. Rutledge and the mgb I was

approved by my insurance only 5 days after Dr. R sent in the pre

approval letter. I found out that Alvarado had just called Blue

Shield on the phone and asked if it was a covered surgery. They

didn't try very hard and I was crushed, I think they really

wanted me

to self-pay. I am so glad I didn't get the RNY.

You will inspire other to keep trying with the appeals no matter how

long it takes it will be worth it. I cried when I got approved too.

walking on air! Now, settle down, get the rest of the stuff together, and
