I've told a lot of people recently that I'm about to have this surgery, and they all want to know why. Meaning, I guess, why would you risk your life with major surgery? One of them asked, " haven't you tried Optifast? Weight Watchers? " I finally was able to tell one friend today just how I felt - right after she asked why I was having the surgery, she mentioned that she was riding in a bike race in our town. And I said, " THAT'S why I'm having the surgery! " Because I don't want to have to hang back anymore from things I'd like to do. I'm having the surgery because I don't want to wake up every single morning wondering what food program might enable me to lose weight, and I don't want to go to bed every night feeling like a complete failure because I'm obese. That's been my life for too long. Thanks for expressing it so well. I hope you get the surgery soon. Blair
