Guest guest
Hi Jeni Lynn; Thanks for sharing the info! Just so I'm sure I understand the post... each meal consists of TWO bowls of soup and a protein food, or can the broth be used to make the creamy veg soup, cutting down on one bowl? I have trouble getting one bowl of soup into my kids! Loved the post on your special family day at the park - treasure that memory always! Hope you got some pics. Thanks, Kim :-) Just starting SCD for whole family 3 yo ASD, 2 yo NT anti-diarrha introduction Hey guys! Some of you asked me (on and off-list) about Dr. Natasha's anti- diarrhea introduction to SCD. Guest guest
Hi Kim! The broth, meat, and vegetable can all be combined into one soup that provides what they need for the meal. My children request on certain days to separate components just for " variety " . . . sometimes two weeks seems like an eternity when all you eat is soup. So on one day we will have it all together. The next day we have the meat separated from the broth / vegetable. The next day we will have meat in the broth, but the pureed in broth vegetable is separated, etc. Our two weeks are almost up (we didn't have to do longer than two weeks because their stools were never loose). We restarted SCD this way mainly for the purpose of taking better notes while introducing foods. Their bowels got so crazy after our last yeast/bacteria flare that I completely lost my bearings (sp?) and couldn't tell what was bringing a bad reaction and what was OK. I am purposing to do better with my notes this time, making my journal a priority (even though it takes me over an hour sometimes to notate every food, supplement, skin condition, bowel movement, behavior observation, and miscellaneous event that occurs for 4 people . . . the three children and myself . . . at the end of a long, exhausting day). Jeni Lynn (gastrointestinal problems) mom to Margeaux, 6 yr. (ADD, gastrointestinal problems, heavy metal toxicity) , 3 yr. (risk for ADD, gastrointestinal problems, heavy metal toxicity) Elle, 19 mo. (leaky gut, eczema, heavy metal toxicity) SCD 5 months P.S. Thanks to you (and everyone else for that matter) for sharing my joy about our good day. It is a blessing to be among friends who can fully appreciate such " milestones. " These things are completely lost on those that don't walk in these shoes. > > Hi Jeni Lynn; > > Thanks for sharing the info! > > Just so I'm sure I understand the post... each meal consists of TWO bowls of soup and a protein food, or can the broth be used to make the creamy veg soup, cutting down on one bowl? Guest guest
Hi Jeni Lynn; Thanks for the reply to my post! I know, it is so exhausting to wear so many hats in order to reclaim/establish our kids' health!! Sounds like you're doing a great job with all the journaling (and the diet of course!). I'm about ready to start stage one of SCD - I think we're at the same stage. Please keep us posted on your kids progress. It's so incredibly helpful/comforting to learn from other Moms. Thank God for this group!! We're having a tough go at the moment. Our whole family is trying to go dairy free SCD. Important for me as I am expecting a baby in December. We're just extremely hungry and IRRITABLE. But this shall pass (soon I hope!). And yes, I can genuinely appreciate how wonderful that day must have been for you -- I would have been walking on clouds for a week ;-) Sincerely, Kim 3 yo ASD, 2 yo NT, baby on the way...
