Guest guest
Holy Shmoley! What a difference a week makes! I come back, check my mail (over 1,000 posts!) and see that LOTS has happened! LOL I confess that I did not read ALL of them, so if someone asked me something in the body of a post, I might not have seen it. So much to comment on! First, to those reporting their losses--WAY TO GO! You all sound so happy and so strong. Speaking of strong, what an onslaught to WL, Esq. I did keep up with that thread (hard to resist) and one thing sticks out in my mind. I can see someone saying that there are risks involved, (we all know them), and that therefore they won't represent anyone seeking the surgery. To me this would be a " moral " professional decision that any attorney could reasonably make, (whether I agreed with it or not). But, to say the MGB is " dangerous, " and then to go on and agree to represent patients of other WL surgeries that are quite obviously more dangerous, makes one think that there has to be more involved. In light of this, I'm not interested in any dialogue with the attorney in question, but my heart goes out to the poor girl on our list who he is representing, (sorry sweetie, I don't remember your name). Good luck to you. And what a class act Dr R is in the way he is handling this. A big CONGRATS to all who were approved! Deb in IL and Holly in IL stand out in my mind. It's good to see all the IL peeps. Holly, where are you from? I'm in Naperville. Everyone else who was approved--I'm so happy for you. in CT-- you are most welcome! I hope the letters helped. Dr Bill is still doing his " duty " (Poo bandaids) by cracking us up, and now I see Genz has become a madam on the side (supplier of cowboys-- yeee haww!) Everyone said that SusieG is a ray of sunshine, I think that shines through in her posts. Hope you are feeling well, sweetie! As for us-- has decided to come home a couple weeks early from summer camp, so Tom or I will fly to Mass next weekend to pick her up. Don't have a date for her yet, but we're still hoping for early to mid Aug. She wants a little time at home before surgery and I don't blame her--plus WE MISS HER! I've been pre-approved with the good doc and will have the insurance fight ahead of me, but hey, I'm a pro now, right? I will call to expedite matters with Cigna so and I can go together. My husband is not looking forward to watching both of us get wheeled away together. He is a fierce Papa Bear! Well, sorry to be so long! It was great to visit my folks in Florida, but wonderful to be back home and among friends (all of you). To those still fighting for the MGB, I am praying for all of you. Stay strong and know that you deserve it!! To those going soon, good luck--especially the one who is going for the 2nd time (sorry, honey, I forgot your name). Good luck on your journey... I don't think I would have gotten approval without the help of lots of people on this list! I sent BCBS so much info, they probably approved me just to get rid of me! Guest guest
Hi Debbie, I just wanted to tell you thanks for that letter you sent me. I modified it into a very LONG letter for my insurance company, I wanted to avoid appealing if I could.. Luckily, I was approved about 4 hours after they got the notes from my visit with Dr. R. I really feel like I owe that to you... I don't know if it would have been so easy without that letter. Thanks again! Deb in IL P.S. I will be eating heavily for one more week... if you want to meet for lunch or something, give me a call.. My number is .

I walked alot then, walked to DQ every Sunday when my hubby was home to watch the kids... After the MGB, I am planning on making that walk again on a regular basis! And in case you were wondering, I didn't get ice cream when I was there! LOL... I usually got a diet coke or nothing at all! Guest guest
Well, if your work is going to pay it, then: (1) Why are you having a much more expensive surgery; (2) Why are you having an open procedure that is a lot more risky (and leaves scarring)? When you could have the MGB and be up and going the next day, feeling fine, no big scar, 35 minutes on the operating table, 1 day in the hospital?
