Blair,

I am so sorry that your surgery had to be postponed due to latex. But

look on the bright side, you won't be scratching and digging from the latex

after the surgery.

Remember that your health is always first with Dr. R.

Keep us posted, will ya?

I'm sorry Blair, I know you must be disappointed, but I'm sure it's in your

best interest and Aug. 9th is not far away. (That's my younger sister

Kristi's 29th birthday) I'll keep you in my thoughts!!!!!!1

Oh, Blair. You sound fine in your post, but I am sorry for the delay. I

hope you find out very soon that you can proceed in August. You're in my

prayers.

Blessings,

Subject: Surgery postponed

Hi:

I'm afraid that Bernadine went on by herself today - Dr. R. put my surgery

off until we can determine whether I am allergic to latex. !!! He was very

kind about it, but absolutely firm that he could not proceed under the

circumstances. I can live with that.

I'm disappointed, but I understand the gravity of such an allergy. I've

always been kind of sensitive to latex, but no one - til today -

characterized it as a possible allergy.

So...I'm headed back home tomorrow, with a new surgery date of August 9,

allergies permitting!

Thanks for all the love and support from all of you. Have some fun this

week, you Durham partyers!

Love,

Blair

Hi Blair,

I'm so disappointed for you!!!!!!!! It is so much better to be safe than

sorry. I also have a lot of allergies. I'm almost 8 weeks post op and you can

still see where I had an allergic reaction to the tape. I understand that latex

allergies are nothing to mess around with. We are blessed that Dr. R stays on

the side of caution. He only wants the best for us.

Sorry I won't get to meet you on this trip. Maybe we can get together at

the picnic.

I wish you the best.

Love,

Genz

Big hug for you, Blair. I read all your post last week and know that

you were excited and motivated to have surgery this week. Knowing

how

much you wanted this " dance " and seeing how well you are handling the

set back says a lot about your character. Good Luck on the 9th

Warmly,

Beth in Orlando

Hi again Blair,

Well, I was able to read your post because someone copied it in their answer

to you. It had to be devastating to be there and ready and then not to be

able to go, but look at how much the doc cares about you! Will you be tested

at home? Do they not have " alternate material " gloves that they can use? If

you go on the 9th, you might be littermate to Chris! Keep us posted, sweetie!

Hi Beth, where are you in this mess? My daughter lives in Kissimmee

and I visit there often. Maybe we can meet one day. Are you approved

yet?
