Guest guest
Hi , Cabbage has its own " starter " and does not need one. However, many folks use a starter with cabbage when they make kraut. If you use a blend of many veggies, then you should use a starter. If you want to experiment then use small amounts at first. Guest guest
No, I know, and I have a starter, what I'm asking is if cabbage has to be included in the mix for it to work, even with a starter, can I do it with no cabbage at all? > >Reply-To: pecanbread >To: pecanbread >Subject: Re: Sauerkraut Recipes and Tips >Date: Wed, 05 Apr 2006 13:57:14 -0000 > >Hi , > >Cabbage has its own " starter " and does not need one. Guest guest
No you do not need to use cabbage if your GI system is working well. However, the best way to start out is with cabbage juice if your GI has not yet healed. Also dilute the juice with water after it has been fermented. Elaine says not to use any raw juice if you have brisk D. Guest guest
Sorry to hear that you are allergic to cabbage. You might try juicing another veggie and then fermenting it. After it is fermented, you add water to dilute it. Mimi > > I'm allergic to cabbage >
