Guest guest
Ummm! I think I started all this half-joking, but now I am quite into the idea of making this a reality. Maybe we could call this business that we are pushing into (wink, wink) " Elaine's Angels. " And if this really got off of the ground, we could promote this as an available resource on Pecan Bread like the SCD counselors. Also, I thought of a new twist we could add. Not only could some of us be foster parents to the " trainees " for the program. Some of us could be foster parents to people who need to heal and are willing to move in with others to get help (ie., some of these college-aged kids that have UC). We live very close to Baldwin College and not too far from University of VA. I could see us taking in a college kid who attended the schools but couldn't eat on campus. And, of course, this would be a paid position (although I don't know who is going to pay us). That way some of us would be able to earn some much needed money while staying at home, doing something we are already doing. Is anybody else catching the vision? Jody, we might need your help designing a trainer's boot camp which addresses learning to cook SCD foods with a lot of emphasis on the ASD twist (no casein for example). Am I completely running wild with this at this point, or does anyone else think this should be pursued? Jeni Lynn (gastrointestinal problems) SCD 2 months mom to Margeaux, 6 yr.
