Guest guest
Dear Jody, and to all it may concern, I just had a very informative conversation with Dr. Houston. Told him about our celiac status and how we are healing from damaged intestines. He suggested that if it is causing burning and pain that we do not use the protease for now. Since biopsy report showed that we had erosion/open ulcerations and flattening of or vili (lining of the intestines). He also said that we may not want to mess with the enzymes if you are on a strict SCDiet. That once the gut heals we may not need them. That some take enzymes just to aid digestion, that we may want to try them later after we heal, since all of his have protease in them. This is very concerning since Elaine thought many autistic kids like our kiki had undiagnosed damaged intestines. How many have slipped through the cracks not diagnosed and confirmed as having damage...like Elaine says in her book about autism.......and these protease enzymes are causing them distress too???? Dr. Houston is trying to find us enzymes that are just Lipase and just Lactase for us. He was so nice to talk to and very informative. Very interesting in light of the LISTS discussion about protease safety. Moral of story: Elaine was right again. If you have erosive colitis or advanced celiac disease, protease may not be your digestive enzyme of choice. Sincerely Antoinette Protease the enzyme deriding the dead tissue around the wounds.
