Guest guest
How long had you been doing SCD before you added nut butters? I'm a little unsure as to how quickly I can add new things...I don't have GI symptoms except for gas so I don't really have anything to go on. Guest guest
Gas and bloating is a sign you are eating a food too advanced. Whenever this happens to me I go back to the intro diet (not 100%) but I make a good effort to eat at least 90% intro foods to get the bloating to go away, charcoal can help too. Then reintroduce the food that is causing the bloating, most likely beans or whole nuts. I find soaking the nuts help with eliminating the bloating. I have been on the diet for 16 months so I try to do the beans and whole nuts, it can still cause bloating for me. I recently started using enzymes for myself (from DR. Houston) and I have not had any pain associated with them and it has helped with some of the bloating from beans and nuts. I even got bloating from fresh pineapple an grapefruit and the enzymes helped. Good Luck, Eileen Brown uc SCD 16months
Guest guest
OK...but I had gas pre-SCD and it never went away, not even on the intro diet. So was I not tolerating something on the intro diet or is there something else going on? I am really looking for WHEN others added nut butters...just going by stages isn't quite specific enough for me so it would be really helpful if anyone could post when (how many days/weeks into SCD) they added nut butter. > > Gas and bloating is a sign you are eating a food too advanced.
