Guest guest
Good luck Debbie! You will know who the other people at clinic are. Dr. R. goes around the room and has you say your name and where you're from, and asks how you found out about the MGB. At least he did when we were at clinic a few weeks ago. If you are having any doubts, they will be gone after you go to clinic. I never really had any doubts, but I came away more sure than ever that this is the right thing for me. Have fun on your journey! Deb in IL MGB 7/31!!
Guest guest
Hi Kathi and Debbie... If you are both going to clinic together, you shouldn't need anyone else. I came from Illinois to clinic with my sister-in-law who is also having the MGB on 7/31. We were there alone, but together.. nobody seemed to think it was a problem. I think it is great that you seem to be friends and can support each other. I don't know what I would do without Robin! She is such a motivator for me.. I am not sure I would have gotten my packet together yet if she wasn't doing it, too, and I am the one who found this site first! Good luck.. maybe we will swing by clinic on the way home from the hospital if we aren't feeling too bad! I am not sure if we will be allowed to do that, but I would like to meet all of you! Guest guest
Just goes to show how rattled I am at this point, huh? Clinic is, of course, next Tuesday, not tomorrow. I'm not sure about having a family member come to the clinic--that's why I asked. So many different areas on the website have about the same info, but with little differences. If you go to the home page, click on start here first, then look on the left side of the page towards the bottom and click on family support, it says a family member must come to the clinic. I email Debbie and asked her which it was, a letter or a clinic visit. This was her reply: Both. We need a family support letter to complete your patient preoperative packet (page 4) but it is also a good idea for a family member to accompany you to your appt. so they know what is going on. Alot of times, these people can come up with more objective questions than our patients do. Debbie So, now I'm just confused....
