Guest guest
Hi all! I just wanted to report in from attending this week's clinic (9am session) that any residual concerns I had about this surgery were completely dispelled after listening to the interaction of the group with Dr. Rutledge, and seeing his candor and openness as he responded to the questions. My husband really didn't have much of a clue as to the technique he uses, but after we watched the video, we were both really impressed. I have complete peace about this surgery, and confidence in Dr. Rutledge. I am an RN and my husband is a paramedic, so we are both medically oriented. This was the last stage in my official research of this surgery. I needed to see Dr. Rutledge and watch him interact with his patients. We were also impressed at his recall of the postops who were there. For me, personally, I feel I have done all I can do to be an informed consumer, and have every confidence in Dr. Rutledge and the MGB. I enjoyed talked with Debbie and Robin from Illinois, and it was really neat to see how everyone walked into the room feeling comfortable with everyone due to this list. It's not only fun, but comforting. What a great support system. I only hope to have an op date soon, and get on with this business of life. I'm not going to get involved with the current issues on the list, but will say that I feel it's imperative for anyone considering any WLS to thoroughly research your options, then go with your *gut* feelings once you've done that. My husband and I both have complete peace regarding our choice, but we only came to that decision based on our own research. This is too important a decision to base it on what others say. We are all entitled to our own opinions, and thank God, we are all unique. We are very well informed of the risks of this surgery, as well as the risks of ANY surgery. I choose the MGB as an informed consumer, and look forward to getting on with it! Debbie and Robin, good luck with your approvals! Enjoyed talking with you. ebbieday in VA
Guest guest
Hi Debbie, I'm glad you feel the same way as I do about our experience yesterday. I agree that it is important to go with your gut feeling, and Robin and I both walked out of clinic yesterday thinking that this is absolutely the best thing for us. It was nice to meet you, if you have any free time when you are visiting your sister, give me a call, maybe we could meet for lunch one day. My number is . Also, tell your husband thanks for getting the VCR going, we wouldn't have been able to see the video without him! Thanks to everyone on this list, we have so much support. That makes this whole thing so much less scary. We are truly blessed! Deb in IL
