Guest guest
Is there an SCD Legal Stool Softner on the market somewhere? I am going to have Fistula surgery next week on the 27th, and the doctor wants me to take a stool softner, because he doesn't want the surgical area to get damaged from hard stools after surgery. I'll be on a clear Liquid diet for a couple days prior, and after, surgery so I have to think of some clear Liquid ideas also I don't know of any legal stool softners, most of the ones I see at CVS or Walgreens have additives in 'em, so i don't know what to take. any suggestions? I can't afford to go off SCD for this surgery, risk getting sick and everything, so any suggestions are happily welcome Fistulas don't close on their own, so I have to have this done, and the surgery won't work if I have hard stools afterwards, I'll probably have to be on stool softners for a month or so until the area heals, otherwise hard stools will tear the skin and I don't need that.. Guest guest
Miralax is not recommended. There are a lot of reasons why. Some research on google should turn up some of the reasons. Prune nectar with orange juice. Magnesium citrate Vitamin C These things should loosen the stool significantly. Guest guest
What about using (SCD legal) Magnesium and/or Vitamin C? Our DAN doc recommends these as a natural stool softener. Guest guest
If you can't find an SCD legal stool softener, as a last resort maybe you could take a non- legal SCD stool softener with enzymes. I would give the enzymes 15-20 minutes before the medicine so that the capsule has time to dissolve and the enzymes are ready to work as soon as the medicine arrives in the stomach.
