Guest guest
Judi, I know for a fact I did not get a catheter! Trust me!!! Ask DR. Bill if he got one. However I did get infiltration and phlebitis, so watch out out for the IV nurse the day of your surgery. Now to be fair, I also got a new lease on life and so far kidneys and a liver that are looking better. My weight is slow, BUT I lost around 30 lbs just before my surgery, so I am grateful for the slowly moving needle (but I would be kissing the doc's feet if I lose 50 pounds by my 40th birthday in November) HEAR that Doc if you shorted me you just missed out on getting your shoes shined by my lips..LOL. Judi, I don't remember saying wear finger nail polish, just toe polish. And yes I will be your pump girl. see ya soon Trisha
Guest guest
Thanks for the update . It's not getting the cath that upsets me actually but from being a nurse I do know it is a possible way to introduce bacteria. It is supposed to be done " sterile technique " and I have yet to see a nurse follow strict sterile technique w/o breaking their field somewhere. In our OB/GYN Dept they do so many and have soo many pts they laugh at me when I cover for the gals there as they say " nobody does it THAT way " ...... each Dr sees 50 or 60 q day...we need FAST,FAST,FAST. If I need it fine. But if I don't thats BETTER. I'm sure I'll have plenty to think about after the 26th with porthole dicomfort, tummy discomfort, reflux discomfort,.....I have to feep a few orifices problem free. Thx for the update, great news Lv Judi in Fla Quoting : > > You don't get a catheter that I know about during the MGB, but if you > do, it's in and out while you are asleep. > > Anyway, Lori, it's been 5 weeks since your surgery and it is > virtually > impossible for that to be the cause of a UTI this late. > > Bladder infections are very common and caused by bacteria which can > get there in several ways, such as during wiping, or sex.
