Hey guys, If only more of us would realize that most all GI problems, even allergies and intolerance will disappear with strict adherence to the BTVC ways. In time most of us will not even need enzymes! And when the brain finally gets nourished ASD is lost or better controlled! It is all in the book...we need to trust more! Maybe reread it....it is always worth a reread...as we get smarter it makes more since each time we open it! Antoinette (2 month scd entire family/celiac asd) a.. Many people will never be healed, many people take things away and heal in other ways, SCD is not the alpha and the omega of life <It is all in the book...we need to trust more! Maybe reread it....it is always worth a reread...as we get smarter it makes more since each time we open it!> Also please remember that BTVC is not the Bible and Elaine is not God, although both are wonderful and Elaine was undoubtedly full of useful information and intellegence she is still human, meaning, she was not perfect. You are very new to this diet and still have a long road ahead of you and alot to learn, be careful not to leap before you know where you are going to land. > >Reply-To: pecanbread >To: <pecanbread > >Subject: Re: GERD/REFLUX/btvc reread! >Date: Thu, 20 Apr 2006 10:31:46 -0600 > >last message: ................Yes my son had severe reflux and was on >Zantac for a year. Guest guest
, I think many of us newbes can take this advice. At one time I thought that the neurodevelopmental program we had our children on would fix everything for them but when my son got so bad again that I had to stop the program for a time I realized that the healing that I know in my heart is taking place is like a puzzle and there are many pieces to that puzzle. I now know that SCD is another of those piece. I have leaned since starting SCD that the phenol issue may be yet another issue. It is so easy when you find one of those pieces of the puzzle to want to believe that you have found the end piece but not always so. Thanks for putting me in rememberance to keep looking for those little keys. Be blessed Sandy M. Whole family SCD in support of 5 yr old who raged. > > <If only more of us would realize that most all GI problems, even allergies > and intolerance will disappear with strict adherence to the BTVC ways.> > > Antoinette, I know you are very well meaning and are impressed with the > results you have seen on SCD so far however you need to remember that > healing is a long road and although SCD is a significant contributor to > healing, the diet alone does not always heal everyone. Guest guest
, I think you make a great point here. The phrase " Your Mileage May Vary " is so true, here. Although I'm new to SCD, I've been in the autism/biomedical battle for about seven years now. We've tried lots of things that haven't worked at all for my boys, or worked for one and not for the other, and every single one has had some parents who had terrific, life-changing results from it. The nutritionist we work with, who is a fantastic autism resource, says that for any given therapy there are some kids who will be amazing, 100 percent responders. These are the people who do one particular thing and their children recover -- they're the parents who write those books like " Vitamin B6 Cured My Child. " When you hear the amazing secretin stories, or GFCF stories, or enzyme recovery stories, these are the families of 100 percent responders. These are also often the parents who say, " If only all of you just did the thing I did, you'd be in great shape. " Unfortunately, this isn't always true. For many kids, they're 10 or 20 percent responders to any one intervention. So, you may see nothing at all from a treatment that was magic for another child -- or you may see a little bit of help from gluten free, more help from yeast control, more help from enzymes, a little from taurine . . . you get the picture. So, I truly appreciate people who explain that something worked for *their* child -- it gives me hope, and other ideas of things to try -- but I think it helps to remember that even if a treatment was your miracle, it may not turn out to be everybody's.
