Guest guest
Dear , Was this with 24 hour fermentation? Most mass produced yogurts do not even come close. This may explain why the casein in " most " yogurts is not rendered harmless. Elaine was very careful that the SCD yogurt was fermented a minimum of 24 hours. Yes, Goat yogurt is much easier to digest because it is closer to human milk. This is why my family refuses to use cow too. Sincerely, Antoinette a.. Guest guest
That's a good question. Of course the longer you ferment it, the more the protein would be broken down. We may give the homemade yogurt a try at some point, when my daughter is fully recovered. It's really hard to tell sometimes, though, if a person is sensitive to a certain food, especially a child who has trouble communicating. If there's a risk, its better to avoid it if possible, IMHO. > > Dear , Was this with 24 hour fermentation? Most mass produced yogurts do not even come close. Guest guest
Just as a matter of interest, store-bought yogurt is typically fermented for just 5-6 hours. It contains quite a bit of lactose still at that point. So, if store-bought yogurt was not well-tolerated, it could be a problem with lactose as well.
