Jeni and Lynn, How do you fight this battle with the doctor????? I here ya!!!...and know from experience how to stand up to them (they do not intimidate me anymore after almost " slipping " through the cracks with undiagnosed Celiac DISEASE...no thanks to their help!)...but what do you say. Does the DAN doctor back you up as a parent...can I look to him to stand up to this also? We see him at end of month. Thanks for input.....Antoinette a.. Guest guest
Hi Antionette! Most DAN doctors (if not all) are firm believers that vaccinations (because of their metals as well as the viruses themselves) are a primary cause of ASD. I seriously doubt that you will get any pressure from your DAN to vaccinate your children. In fact, he may point out to you how Kiki's regression corresponds with her vaccinations (Dr. Megson pulled out 's chart and showed me these things at one appointment). I felt so sick to my stomach about it I thought I might vomit in her office . . . just looking at that vaccination sheet with my initials ALL OVER IT! I don't know your DAN, but I can give you Dr. Megson's view about this. I suspect a lot of DANs are in agreement with her. She is not anti-vaccine. She thinks that vaccines are important in preventing the terrible epidemics that have happened in the past. However, she is " anti " the aggressive schedule that is promoted . . . for example, newborn babies do not need the Hep B vaccine since they won't be sleeping around or pushing drugs (which are the risk factors) for many more years if ever. She is " anti " what they put in the vaccines . . . it is not necessary for thermerisol to be in these shots and she gets very ticked off that they continue to do this unnecessarily. She is " anti " the short cuts that are being taken. There are a great many children, including mine, that genetically are vulnerable to the toxins and viruses in these vaccines. No one is screening for this. We are just blindly injecting. Also, it ridiculous that they automatically give booster shots when many kids still show immunity to the viruses they give the boosters for. This gives them extra toxins and an extra viral load unnecessarily. Dr. Megson had both Margeaux and 's titers tested for measles, mumps, and rubella. Both their titers are so elevated that it goes beyond " immunity. " It means that there bodies are still trying to fight off these viruses that they were injected with years ago (in Margeaux's case, 4 years ago). And yet, had I enrolled her in kindergarten this year, they would have required her to get that MMR booster regardless. Dr. Megson told me that my kids should never be vaccinated again, and to especially never allow them to get the DTP EVER! She also thinks that the CDC is untrustworthy and that there are too many " political " issues that compromise the integrity of the whole vaccine protocol. So she is not " anti-vaccine " because the vaccines are a bad idea, she is anti-vaccine because of how the whole thing is carried out. My guess is that your DAN will feel somewhat the same. I doubt you will have to stand up to him. In fact, he may tell you what Dr. Megson told me . . . stay away for the time being and possibly forever. Guest guest
Dear Antoinette, About a month after Cameron's diagnosis (at 3 years of age)I went back to the Dr. who insisted on our children's vaccines and READ HER THE RIOT ACT. I remember the day I took Cameron for his first shots as a two-month old - I had asked her point blank if there was a connection with autism and vaccines and she said, " Absolutely not. Have you ever seen a child suffer from measles? It's just terrible! Do you really want to risk that? " So naturally, I trusted her and let them jab him... again and again. After Cameron's dx, I told our new Ped that there was NO WAY that Mia was going to get any more shots. I was crying and shouting, so she had no choice:) In our family, our kids are the " first batch " so fortunately for the uncles and aunties, they know better than to vaccinate and are currently holding off vaccinating until much later (like 2-3 years of age) and they will personally purchase the single dose vaccines, wait two months and then vaccinate again - they may change their minds and NOT VACCINATE AT ALL - that's what I'd do!) In Ontario in our specific region, you fill out some type of form that states that vaccines are either against your religion or personal philosophy - can't remember how it's worded. I have yet to do this b/c Mia is not in school or any nursery yet, but will be in the fall. I'm sure you have some similar document to fill out in your area to make your child exempt from vaccines. As for getting a Dr. who supports this in Canada - it's tough. My brother was told by the first ped they saw that she simply would not see their newborn if they refused to vaccinate. So - 2 drs later, they finally found someone. My sister-in-law cried uncontrollably and said she couldn't allow her newborn son to be vaccinated after what happened to her little nephew, Cameron. The dr said ok - but I have a feeling he's just chalking it up to post-partum depression of a new mom and will put the heat on again soon... Just think how fortunate Kiki is to have such a clearly devoted mother who has taken action so quickly and managed to get her little one to come back to her! I wish I'd seen the signs so much earlier with Cameron. It is difficult to stop blaming oneself about not knowing about amalgams, vaccines, prenatal vitamins and good (SCD!)diet, but we HAVE TO MOVE ON AND HEAL. Love reading your posts, Antoinette - hang in there!!! Lynn - Mommy to Cameron 3.9 (ASD) and Mia Jean (20 months) - our guy's gut's the best in this family b/c he's been SCD 67 days! Guest guest
You do not battle with the MD... You just refuse the vaccination, and that's that. Fortunately you won't have to go through this with Kucera. But get a letter from him. Please get a letter on file for each of you kids saying that immunizations are contraindicted for them for them... medical exemption, due to adverse reaction, sibling reaction, etc. I got it for my kids, but it was after they'd already gotten everything for two full years.
