Guest guest
Actually, he says cooked honey hardens mucous in the body. I will find the exact quote. He states that this will cause problems in the gut. This concerns me. > > yes, yes, yes, on the honey www.reallyrawhoney.com best honey you will ever > had, cooked honey loses all of its nutritional value > > > > > >Reply-To: pecanbread > >To: pecanbread > >Subject: Aryuveda > >Date: Mon, 27 Mar 2006 02:51:03 -0000 > > > >Hello all, > > > >We are having a heck of a week! Guest guest
yes... in aryveda they say heating honey is a no no... i think of this too everytime i am cooking with honey on scd and thats alot. I used to be the vitamin and herb buyer at whole foods and I learned a ton about nutrition... but mostly that alot of the information is conflicting! I'm still not sure about the honey and I cringe everytime I heat it but... so many people do well on this diet there must be something to it. The book is Perfect Health for Kids. He > is works out of Boulder, Colorado so is close by for me. He is an > aryuvedic pediatric doc. > Discussions and advertising of alternative diets, illegal foods, treatments that are not recommended, or other subjects that are not part of the science and practices of SCD are not allowed on the list. This does include references made in the body of an e-mail, subject lines and signature lines. This rule is done to protect those new to SCD and to avoid confusion. Information about honey is in BTVC on many pages, check the index. Honey that has congealed and hardened can gently be warmed to bring it to proper consistency again for cooking, baking etc. We include honey in baked goods and it gets heated. Arvyuda suggests things not suitable for SCD: example Fennel Seeds for indigestion. Seeds are only for those who are well advanced with the diet, If you wish to practive alternative protocols you may not get the desired results and perhaps it is best not to suggest them to others on SCD as explained above.
