Guest guest
Hi all, A few days ago a friend of ours, who we hadn't talked to in a very long time, called to tell us that her husband had died that morning. Our hearts were broken. Years ago when we lived in Florida early in our marriage, we did almost everything with this couple. We were extremely close. They have since moved to California, and we are now in Tennessee, so we haven't seen each other for years, but our hearts were always together, if you know what I mean. This dear friend who died weighed almost 500 pounds when he passed away. He was suffering from severe diabetes and had had a stroke a couple of years ago. He and his wife were never able to have children. They were each others best friends. His wife told me that she feels calm in a way about his death because he was suffering so much, and she has great faith in her Heavenly Father, but she also said " Oh, I miss him so much. " We cried on the phone together for a while, and when I hung up I kept thinking how much I wish this man could have had the MGB. He was so young to die, and I feel so badly that his wife will have to be without her best friend for the rest of her life. My husband is my best friend. I adore my children. I intend to be with them in this life for at least 50 more years (I'm 42)! I will have the MGB so that I can live, and live well. Along with all the research I have done about the MGB, I have also done much praying, and I feel very calm and sure of my decision being the right one. I am so thankful that Dr. Rutledge is doing this surgery. I am so thankful for this great hope. Sara

I am glad she has her faith to hang on to now. Like you, I have prayed alot about this decision and I know I am suppose to move forward in my life right now with this and I believe that God will bless it and it will only bring more faith, hope and love in return. I will be remembering your friend in prayer. Take care of yourself. laurie
