Guest guest
Before I found Dr. R., I called a lap surgeon in Atlanta to inquire about his proceedure. He is busy like Dr. R. and has staff to handle insurance. He charges a non-refundable $50.00 fee that has to be sent in with your paperwork BEFORE they file your insurance. I am not sure what the fee is used for, but I bet it keeps a lot of people from filing for pre-approval. There are plenty of surgeons that you can go to where you are not charged a fee, and those of us who don't want to pay it will go elsewhere. It would probably weed out a lot of people if they had to fill out a Visa payment form before they could fill out the online form. Ya'll don't get mad at me for suggesting this. It sort of made me mad when they wanted $50.00 at the other office. That's one reason that I did not use him. Charging a fee would surely weed out many folks. Those of us who would not consider going to anyone else would pay a fee in a heartbeat, though. Just a suggestion. Stormy
Guest guest
Hi Dr. Rutledge, I suggested in my last post that you raise your fee to pay for help to handle insurance, but it would be great if you could keep it the same for those who do self-pay. Maybe charge $4500 normally but give a 25% discount to those who self-pay. Something like that. Sara tczjr84@... wrote: > I know you are being pulled in many directions. This will surely give many hoping to be patients serious pause. That should slow the patient database considerably. Dr R I am happy for your success and sad as well. No one should be as overwhelmed with work as you are. I am praying that you and the good people on this list, find a way to make everyone happy.
