Guest guest
Suzanne, This sounds very strange. But I was wondering . . . could it be some sort of parasite? I have heard stories of crazy looking parasites (big and small). My chiropractor said that one of his patients brought one in that had dropped out of her after some detoxing treatments. He said it looked like a pair of lips. This woman was elderly, so maybe the parasite had been with her a long time and got fat and big as a result. I don't know. But this was a thought that came to mind as I read your post. Jeni Lynn White chunks in stool? I've never seen something that looks like this on any of the " poop " sites. We started a new antifungal (ketoconazole) on Saturday, saw some stimmy die-off behavior that day. Sunday was a much better day, stims were down, cognition and language were better. He had one large soft poop that looked " normal " for him (formed, soft, undigested). We are giving mag. citrate for constipation that resulted in a fissure, which has softened his poops). But Sunday night, he was constipated, straining. Today (Monday), after some painful straining, I used a suppository. What finally came out was watery and undigested with white, slippery, capsule-like chunks. I have never seen this before. The rest of the stool was dark brown and green, like the spinach he's been eating. Could the white chunks be large colonies of yeast? I am not sure whether this is a liver problem ... it's not the overall stool color. Guest guest
We did a parasite test recently and it was negative. In my *gut* I think it's yeast colonies. They would be impressive if they weren't so disgusting. Suzanne > > Suzanne, > > This sounds very strange. But I was wondering . . . could it be some sort of parasite? Guest guest
Nope, no nuts. He only eats veggies and meat and oils. It didn't look like anything he'd eaten. I called our DAN! this morning and the nurse seems to agree it's probably related to die-off. She was not worried about gallbladder or liver problems yet, but agreed to have him blood-tested at the end of this round of Ketoconazole. There was someone who responded on one of the boards I posted this question on who said that when she was having a lot of yeast die- off, she passed some white chunky things too. My guess is they're dead yeast colonies. It was about 1/4 cup total volume in a 1 cup stool which was otherwise pretty normal looking for him. Eeech, seeing this stuff come out of my son gives me the creeps. What awful things are living in him! Suzanne We did a parasite test recently and it was negative. Guest guest
Suzanne, I had my appointment with Dr. Megson today. I spoke with her about the white, rubbery stuff that Tom and Elle passed the other day. She said that it did, indeed, sound like they passed yeast colonies. She said this can and does happen, and that the thick, rubbery, stuff I described (although I told her Elle's version of it . . . the webb-ish version) did sound like the passing of a yeast colony. Yippee! Progress being made! Jeni Lynn (gastrointestinal problems) SCD 1 month mom to Elle, 18 mo. (heavy metal toxicity, leaky gut, eczema) SCD 3 months Re: White chunks in stool? Nope, no nuts. Guest guest
Thanks for checking! Tom has passed a few more cheesy, curdy chunks, and overall his stools are starting to look a LOT better in form and texture (though still undigested so we are going to have to find some safe enzymes too). The ketoconazole seems to have really helped his behavior as well. This stuff must have been stuck inside him for a long time. Onward & upward!
