That driving person was me, Dena Lawton. Yes I drove back 1150 miles to

the upper peninsula of Michigan. No problem. Be advised that Dr. Rs

patients are supposed to stay a week in Durham. However, nothing is

engraved in stone, is it?

I understand your concerns. I took my daughter and her 13 mos old baby with

me. If you have someone with you it is doable. I didn't want her to sit by my

bedside so I told her to go back to Duke Tower, unfortunately she was not

comfortable being by herself so spent the night with me. However, it wasn't

really a problem. My surgery was on Friday and was discharged on Saturday. We

stayed for clinic on Tuesday and then I drove home on Tues. I figured I must

have been a difficult pt because she slept most of the way home. I drove from

Durham to Eastern Shore of Md. Hope this helps.
