Hi, Margie:

Are you from SC? I sometimes get everyone confused on our list, but I

thought I remembered that you were in SC. I live in western NC, just

above Greenville, SC.

Yes, I am staying at Duke Towers, arriving the 23rd, leaving the

30th. I've stayed there before, when I attended Duke Diet and

Fitness, and I enjoyed it. I also used to live in Durham when my

husband was in a residency program at Duke, and Durham and Chapel

Hill can be lots of fun.

Call me at before Friday, if you'd like - I'm driving my

daughter to summer camp, then heading to Durham late Sunday, for

surgery on Monday morning. My mother's going to be with me. That

should be interesting...

Thanks,

Blair

Hi Blair,

I am bringing my mom and four kids with me on July 29 or 30, we will be

staying about a week. My brother and sister in law Robin will also be

coming. Robin and I are both having the MGB on Monday, 7/31. Do you know of

any fun things for my mom and my brother to do with the kids in the Durham

area? We are hoping to feel good enough by Wednesday or Thursday to take a

drive to the ocean, but I'm sure they will want to do something Monday or

Tuesday when I will mostly want to sleep. By the way, my kids are aged 5 -

14. Thanks for any ideas you might have.

Deb,

Try the Life and Science Museum it is near the hospital. They have a room that

the little one will enjoy. It has climbing places and balls to roll down ramps

and many hands on things for the little ones. They also have a petting zoo.

For

the older ones they have exhibits on weather, skeletons, space etc. just the

ones

that I remembered plus a butterfly house. It shows the life cycle of

butterflies

( you can see them come out of the coccoon), butterflies are flying all around

you. They have air conditioned benches that you can sit on while you watch

them. Check it out.
