Yea, Well, use some ice packs on your brain, I don't want to have to wheel

you around on my trip.

Hi all,

I just finished reading all about Susie's experience and I'm sitting

here crying like a fool. It's such a mixed bag of emotions. I mean

I am so excited about having the surgery. But when I started reading

I kept putting myself in her place and all the years of frustrations

and unreached goals, unobtainable goals even, just kinda of sat down

on me with such heaviness. Truly this is the most liberating

experience any of us will ever face and yet inside it's like you

can't really trust your own eyes and believe that in the near future

you will be the before and after. For as long as I can remember, I

began each day with a new " plan " to lose weight. Hoping that it would

work and still deep down inside somehow knowing that it wouldn't. I

can't count the summers between school that I would make a plan to

lose weight before school starts again. Well, in two years, I'll

have my 20 reunion and you know what...I'M GOING...I did not go to

the 10 year because I felt like a total blob. I hate to ramble on and

on, it's just I feel that you guys can understand the feelings. For

so long I kept them all locked up, facing each heartbreak alone and

to myself because no one I knew faced the same struggle. Now I see

that there are so many like me, feeling trapped in their own bodies,

frantically searching and now believing that we have found the

answer. Thank you all for sharing your feelings and experiences and

thank you DR. R. for helping us. I can't wait to post that I'm

approved and on my way. Hope springs eternal.

Ranee: Amen! I loved your post. Your feelings are my feelings!

My 40th high school reunion is in October and I will be thinner than I have been

since high

school when I go...maybe thinner! I plan to practice the stroll (a dance from

the 50's) before

I go...this time I'll be thin enough to keep up! I keep saying over and over in

my head...I'm

really losing weight just going about my life. It is a wonderful feeling!

I am 57 and have been overweight since I was 7. I won't go into what I

suffered...we've all

been there...we all know...but I never tire of hearing about the hope that this

surgery gives us.

I am experiencing the hope...and the fact...having had surgery on May 31.

Best wishes! It's really not a dream..it's a reality and it's within the reach

of each of us. I have

to keep pinching myself to know that I really was fortunate enough to have had

this surgery.
